Forthcoming anthology by members of the R&R research group

News: Dec 20, 2016

An anthology on the reception of Aristotle's logic and metaphysics edited by Börje Bydén and Christina Thomsen Thörnqvist is soon to appear with the Pontifical Institute of Mediaeval Studies under the title The Aristotelian Tradition: Aristotle's Works on Logic and Metaphysics and their Reception in the Middle Ages.

Several of the members of the R&R research group have contributed to the volume, but also other researchers who participated in the series of workshops that was arranged by the Danish-Swedish network The Aristotelian Tradition: The Reception of Aristotle's Works on Logic and Metaphysics. The network was funded by Riksbanken jubileumsfond 2009–2011, coordinated by Thomsen Thörnqvist and later formed the core group of the application to RJ for the research programme Representation and Reality.

The anthology will be available in February 2017. In addition to ten contributions on various aspects of the Medieval reception of Aristotle's works on logic and metaphysics the volume also contains a new edition (including English translation and commentary) of George Gemistos Plethon's On Aristotle's Departures from Plato.
